Started with this, a few years ago:  Everything was packed in plastic bags:  Nine sprues, a body, and eight tires:  I like the fact that the factory stock wheels and tires are still in this kit, along with the wild custom jobs that Chip Foose designed for this Dodge.

When is a Coronet not a Coronet? When ya put a Charger grille and taillight panel in it!!!  I decided to do FOOSE one better. (Yeah, right!) I stole the front grille and bumper from a Revell '67 Dodge Charger kit. It fits with just a teeny bit of body mod on the Coronet. The taillight lens has the name "Charger" molded into it, so I made a replacement from some white stuff channel. The taillight panel is a little different story. The chrome surround is a little small, and it sticks out. I marked around it, and will trim out the rear panel to accept the surround, and it will fit flush. I covered the new "lens" with BMF.  I then painted it with Tamiya Clear Red.  |

I got the taillight panel finished:  Next, I used a combination of drills and the Dremel with metal bits to carve out the plastic on the body so the taillight panel would fit flush:  After cleaning up the opening with files and sanding sticks, the panel fits fairly well:  |

I was hoping to use these wheels and tars:  Couldn't get them to fit without some carving work on the body. So, I decided to go MOPAR with the Magnum 500's:  Not a great pic, and the one on the right hadn't been detailed at the time. |

I have some MCW paint for this one, in a '67 Dodge Coronet color. I'll make an attempt to blow it through an airbrush. Betcha never will guess the color I picked.

looking good, like the custom work. if i may, with the custom work on the front and rear, i would try to make the custom wheels fit. i think it will help with the custom look, i think the magnums give it that "what if" stock look. either way, i like ehat you are doing so far. and i think your going with bright blue metallic.

Thanks, Al! I'll revisit the custom wheels, maybe see if I have some other wheels that might fit the body better. I just don't want to do any whacking on it.
By the way, not going with bright blue metallic. LOL
