that there is still interest in the build-offs. with no prizes, competition, smack talk... if you guys are interested in another that's great. I do/am going to finish my duster by the end of the year. Sportabout brought up the idea (in jest, probably) to have another build-off using any street rod, probably something like 48 and below with the only criteria is it has to be Chrysler powered. sounds OK to me, BUT, I don't want to start another till probably the turn of the new year.
would love to get your guys opinion on this. this way if you have a street rod you want to do, you can hold off till then. this does not mean that it isn't open to other ideas, I myself would love to do a wagon, but I don't have a wagon. so the lines of communication are now open. let me know what you all think. this hot rod theme would be open to rebuilders too because I do have a 32 I have in the project pile that I want to redo.
let me know what you are thinking guys.

Al I think it’s a great idea I’ve got some kits that would fit into this type of building.

Can I build my rod using AMC engine and tranny? Chrysler bought AMC in 1987.

If it's not until next year, and depending on how I do with this build I'm on right now, I might even hop on board. I have to get rolling sometime. Might as well be right now, I guess. If I don't order some paint real soon I might have to jump on a different build that doesn't need a special colored paint.

I like the street rod with a Mopar power plant theme. Let's "kiss" it ... "Keep it simple silly!"
Later we can do a "Run what you brung, balls out, Mopar powered, anything else goes." build off.

Just so I understand the original "theme". I was thinking of a '40 or '41 Willys with a Hemi (non-supercharged). Does that meet the criteria for the original '48 or older street rod? I'm thinking that's what I'd go with regardless of what specific theme is decided on. That is unless things are completely changed to something else. I don't think I'd go all out with a radical street freak build. Maybe just a clean Hemi Willys built for the street.
You guys keep me in line and make sure I'm planning on following the rules.
