I've had this kit for quite some time:
It's one of those I would look at, and then put it back on the shelf.
I was challenged on another site to build it, so I started.
This is what was in the box:
These decals were included in the kit:
They would work fine, if I paint the truck black. I didn't want to use black.
My good friend from the great Northwest was kind enuff to send the extra set from the recent
re-issue of this kit, The Ice Patrol Jeep:
They look more like the factory stripes.
I had to do a lot of cleanup on the body. There was a sharp edge all the way around the thing
that needed to be taken off. Along the fender tops on the bed...all around the wheel wells...along
the bottoms of the rocker panels...the edges of the hood...all around the opening of the engine
bay...around the windshield opening...around the edge of the front grill piece....
I lightly filed it off, and removed the mold seams.
I ran into a problem with the taillight panel:
I have the panel taped in place on the right side. You can see how it doesn't match up on the left.
The tailgate seems to fit fairly well in the light panel:
So, I think the problem is in the bed sides.
Well...after a little Fuss and Fudge session, I got the parts lined up and glued in place:
I had to put in the gate, because of the pins. I'll hafta paint it in place, too.
The gate will still operate:
This is where it stands, now. When I paint it, I plan to do the inside of the bed as if it has a bedliner in it.
I don't know what color I'll use for the body, yet, but it will go along with the yellow stripe kit.
Comments and questions are welcome.
Thanks for looking!
