I'm not thrilled with the decals for my Cobra Kai Challenger. There are white dotted lines going through them and the vendor says it's the way Alps printers print. Are there any other vendors you guys recommend?

nope. never saw that from an Alps printer before. I thought that is why everyone wants Alps, cause they are awesome printers

I've seen the white lines when printing with a regular inkjet, not specifically an Alps. It's a sure sign that the print head and/or the ink cartridge need cleaning. If your vendor is trying to convince you that his Alps printer leaves those lines all the time, he more than likely has a problem with his printer and either doesn't know how to fix the problem, or for whatever reason chooses to not fix the problem.
Yep, time to find a new vendor.

I think I'd ask for my money back.

I think I'd ask for my money back. I agree! Looks more like an upholstery decal!

I know there are some colors they have problems with printing, but not like that. Sure glad I saw this because I was going to contact them about doing a custom set of decals for me.

I’m bummed because he’s done other work for me, and it’s been good. Then again, they were for long, skinny decals for a 1/16 and 1/64 Dirty Mary Crazy Larry Charger.
I sent him a message saying my modeling peers who have seen the decals wouldn’t use them, and would ask for a refund or replacement without the defects. I also mentioned that the proof looks different than the printed quality. And I asked how he handles situations like this.
We’ll see what kind of response I get.
I don’t like to rip people off, or take advantage of situations. And I don’t have a problem paying for a service, as long as I get what I pay for.

He’s making another set which will be from the Alps and another printer.

awesome. sometimes it takes a little nudge.. I’m still not thrilled about the original quality, and how obviously different it is from the proof. Or that the nudge was even necessary.

At least he's trying to make it right.

I hope it works out. I do need another set of decals for the Big Willie Daytona.

It looks pretty good when I zoom in. Lots better than those white lines. I can't believe he tried to push the first set off on you claiming that's just the way an Alps prints.
