Believe it or not, I just spent some time on the bench. Really!
I started the disassembly of the 1/18 Ford Coupe. All "major" components are now separated. Nothing broken at this point. I attempted to return screws to their appropriate place as soon as each component was removed but I still ended with 2 extras. I'll find where they go during actual reassembly.
Now I need to decide if I just want to add detail or do an engine swap, etc. It's got a flathead V8 in it so I'm leaning towards detail on the existing motor.
I know for sure I want to swap wheels & tires and I took a short look at removing the existing wheels/tires. The tires slip off easily. I haven't quite figured out the removal of the wheels. They aren't mounted on a metal axle. Everything is plastic, front and rear. I'm guessing at this point that I need to separate the two halves of the wheels, inside and outside. And I'm just guessing the "axle stub" is a split piece that needs compressed to slide out.
If anybody knows for sure or has a good idea, give a shout.
