I was out in the yard over the weekend and a car went by with the windows down. The guy had his music up and without thinking about it, the song was familiar and it stuck with me. I just could NOT remember what it was. Of course, since it was playing in a car that went by, I only got a short piece of the song.
So I started trying to figure out what song it was. I got on the old laptop and started searching. I was positive it was an Allman Brothers song so I went to YouTube and started searching. I played all the songs I was sure I was familiar with and it wasn't any of them. So I started playing their songs that didn't immediately click with me from the titles. Still no go.
Just a while ago, it finally dawned on me that I should try some Crosby, Stills, & Nash. About the 4th song and PAYDIRT! The song was "Helplessly Hoping". I have no idea why that wouldn't come to mind or why in the world I was so convinced it was the Allman Brothers.
The good news is that I now have that tune ripped and downloaded. I've got over 50 hours of music on the laptop now. That's 50 hours of continuous music with zero repeats. I set out to get 100 hours, but I'm going to fall short of that. I'm running out of good, old, rock and roll tunes to download. LOL!

Hmmmmm... my playlist would include every song the Beatles ever did! And the Eagles. And Pink Floyd. And Credence Clearwater Revival.......

Oh, my playlist has a bunch of everything, except the Beatles. I refuse to listen to their music due to certain political views they had. For instance, "Imagine" and yes, I know it's a Lennon song and not necessarily the Beatles. I still nix them. Pretty much everything else is fair game though. I ripped off about 50 more songs earlier this morning including some Nirvana from their "Nevermind" album. The songs just keep adding up.

I just got a few goodies from the past, Wooly Bully - Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs, Joan Baez - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, Barry McGuire - Eve Of Destruction, Green Onions - Booker T & the MG's, and Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth. Yeah, I know. A whole lot of you guys are going, "Who?" Hey. It was great music back then and it's still great to me.

All good songs, there. I remember them all! I have a CD that a former coworker burned for me that has 14 hours of "One Hit Wonders". I played it on my computer at work, set it for "shuffle" so it played a different sequence every day. It's one of my favorite CDs.

Sounds like it would be good listening. I'll burn discs of what I've got on my laptop for use in the car, but my intent was to hook my speakers and powered woofer to the laptop and hit shuffle and let her rip. Hours and hours of uninterrupted music and no repeats. Then when the wife is gone I can kick back and relax. She's not too fond of a lot of my music, especially at the volume I listen to it.

The odd thing about that disc and another disc burned by someone completely different is that neither one will play in the truck CD player.

The odd thing about that disc and another disc burned by someone completely different is that neither one will play in the truck CD player. More than likely the songs on the disc were burned as MP3s, MP4s, or some other computer format. Most car stereos will only recognize CDA format which are files created for a CD. You just need to use a good music app on your PC to convert them to .cda format.

Put the needle on the black disc and change it every 15 minutes or so.

Yes, Joan Baez. Didn't you listen to her songs? Maybe you weren't a free spirit who regularly let your mind wander via chemical stimulation. LOL!!

No. They didn't even crossmy ear drums. I know Judas Priest does a cover of the song green manalici. I think that was a Joan Baez song. Now let's talk about Joan Jett for a while...

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, I believe. "Put another dime in the jukebox, baby!"
