I’m planning to build a street super stock 65 Coronet. But I’m a little confused. The new reboxed Polar lights now AMT has the 426 wedge engine. I want to use the hood scoop and the dual four barrels. But unfortunately it may be incorrect for 65. I read that in 65 they replaced that engine with the hemi. Is that right? So this kit can only be built with the street wedge. Or I will have to find a hemi to make it right? Any thoughts on this? And one more question. Did Plymouth use the super stock 426 decal on the valve covers? And did Dodge use Ramcharger on theirs? Any help to get it right will be great.

Thanks for the information. At least one person responded. As far as I know, the 426 max wedge was only around in 63 and 64. It reverted to a detuned street wedge in 65. Any Mopar race cars in 65 were hemis. I am going to try to verify this a little more. I got some hemis if you need one, let me know. I havent been on in a while and just saw this.

So, as far as I can tell, in 65, the coronet came with the street wedge. It was a 4 bbl motor with no scoop. If your building a street super stock car, I dont think you would be wrong at all by using a max wedge scoop and a cross ram. It would bolt right up. I say go for it.
