i cracked open the kit last night. pulled all the parts off the trees and separated them. will get to scraping and trimming all the pieces. as fate would have it, my primer will not spray (no i am not going to decant it, i'm going to trash can it!!). still undecided on the color (interior and exterior. not a lot of pieces to this kit because everything is molded it. so i may grab another chassis and cut the pieces out that are suppose to be separate. leaf springs, exhaust and differential are all one piece (so nasty). anyways, at least its a start.
and before anyone starts the "if there are no pictures, it didn't happen" crap, we have no camera, and my phone and tablet take too big of pictures to load up[, and i am too lazy and techno-stupid to load anything else. i tried loading tap-a-talk but it says its on my phone already.... i cant find it. you guys will just have to wait for pictures of the winning build.

Really, I haven't had a problem with my phone's photos here.
Find the nearest teenager or 20-something and have them tweak your phone's camera.
More than once, I've handed mine to a kid and they got it to do what I want.

Al at least your posting what your doing. But just finding out that your primer won’t work just shows how long you have been away from the bench. Lol.

sanded the body, trimmed all the parts and actually decided on a color. its gonna be sublime green. now I don't know if i want a vynle top on it or not. i was going to replace a lot of parts because of the molded together thing, but I will save that for the next one. The only extras i am putting on the kit (so far) is i am going with not-so-bigs and littles for the tires and getting rid or modifying of the terrible air cleaner in these kits.

Sublime with a white interior would really pop.

OK believe it or not, i am building 2 of these at the same time. one for the buildoff (the 440+6 car that my son gave me) and a hemi version, not for the buildoff.
the buildoff car is moving forward. things are ready for paint. most things are fitting together well. the hemi version, not so good. in an ongoing trade between me and Marty, i received a GTX and a Road runner. as i said before, i want to do a hemi version of either the GTX or the Road runner. spent a few hours trying to gather up hemi parts from the 71 monogram cuda because that is the only one that has a hemi in it. i finally find most of the pieces. stuck most of it together (no belts or fan) and low and behold.... it doesn't fit!! even without the fan and belts, it hits the radiator. it has to be a full 1/8th inch longer than the 440. the 1/24th 440 is just about the size of the 1/25th hemi. after all that, it lays on my bench and i am back to square 1. i will take a longer look at it but it seems i will end up using a 1/25th hemi. it's not for show so i think i can live with it. more to come.
