I’ve had these Warlock kits for a very long time and since I just got a set of decals in I thought I might as well build it for this end of the year build off! I will also be building a 2nd model too! I have decided to build both of these trucks at the same time!! I’ll be deleting my other post on the Li’l Red Express and both builds will be posted here.  This one is a rebuilder as some stuff had already been started on it. I’m using a different cab because someone had sanded off the mold line for the roof which is supposed to be there. I’ll also be using a parts box engine. |

I think all the Warlock pickups had gold wheels.

I think all the Warlock pickups had gold wheels. i bet they did when they were sold... BUT... here is some original sales literature with similar wheels to the LRE.   |

Black with golden wheels? The Warlock's oak-lined pickup bed was later used by the (more popular) L'il Red Express Truck, which had the same body panels and mechanicals (as did all D100 and W100 trucks); the Express also used the Warlock's standard stepside chrome bumpers and grille, though it had new, five-slot disc wheels instead of the Warlock's eight-spoke gold wheels (with black pinstripes). Those gold wheels only lasted for the first year, with the Warlock II of 1979 having chrome wheels. |

Great info about those wheels. I never knew the chrome ones came on a Warlock.

Did you get them right from Neal? I’ve started getting mine from Joe Morgan who has a Facebook page for Ray’s decals and it’s been a lot easier to get them that way. |
