My new project is Lorelai Gilmore's Jeep from Gilmore Girls. I am using the new release from Revell of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and I will decontent it to reproduce Lorelai's Jeep. I will change the tires, lower the suspension a bit, remove the air snorkel and paint the Jeep in Tamiya AS-15 Tan. I need to find a soft top for this Jeep. Here's what became of Lorelai's Jeep. www.autotrader.com/.../heres-what-happened... Gilmore Girls will continue...

I started on Lorelai's Jeep by filling in the holes for the snorkel. This will not be needed. As an experiment, I brushed on some Tamiya X-23 Clear Blue paint for the fade that is present on Connecticut license plates. Not bad, but it could have been better. I measured the posts and decided on a 1/8" cut on the posts to lower the suspension height. I may start with 1/16" first just for grins and giggles. Gilmore Girls will return...

you come up with the craziest projects. i guess when you are as diverse as you are with your model building, that's what happens. i admit, i am a narrow minded builder for sure. i do remember the tv series. my wife used to watch it. good luck with the project Mike.

Thanks Al! My wife and I have been watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix for the past year starting with the first episode and I started to notice Lorelai's Jeep. I started to wonder if there was a model kit available and I noticed the Revell re-issued Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I built the off-road Jeep a year before with the big tires and big bumpers and this kit is simular with a stock look and smaller tires. I am decontenting this Jeep to match Lorelai's Jeep. There really isn't anything wrong with being a bit narrow-minded about some things like model building. Being diverse opens up a whole world for one to explore! My off-road Jeep.

I drilled out the holes along the rocker panels and filled them with styrene rod and cut them flush with the rockers. These will be smoothed over with Bondo. The rear panel of the Jeep had the pattern of aluminium panels and I sanded the rear of the Jeep since Lorelai's Jeep doesn't have it. Gilmore Girls will return...

I know what you mean! I seem to fall back to muscle cars and American sports cars which has been my first love. If I can do something different to a muscle car with minimal work and it appeals to me, I'll do it.
