Just painted the Revell Challenger in testors Extreme Lacquer purple called purplelicious. Going to to wait three or four days before clearing it. Not a super detailed kit but I couldn’t stand those badly applied white stripes. So I decided to redo the whole thing. Got the chassis finished. I never noticed how much plastic covers the real cars have. Got the 392 in. I’m still need to detail paint some things. I still haven’t decided to paint the seat inserts a darker grey or just leave it. It’s not plumb crazy but it’s a nice close color I think.

Thanks. Hopefully the color will brighten up after clear coating and buffing. 😁

I like the weld discoloration at the converters - nice touch ! I generally like Tamiya more than Testor's, seems to spray & behave better. And yeah, the newer cars must be about half plastic...

Nice looking Challenger Ed. Witch Revell kit is this one? I didn’t realize they made one with the 392 Hemi.

Yes. I’m still working on it. Unfortunately for me I had to strip all the paint on it because I buffed through the lacquer based clear. So after a time in the purple stuff I had to redo the bodywork and repaint it. But this time I applied enamel based clear. So tomorrow it should be dry enough to carefully sand and buff it out. After that I have to airbrush the dark black grey lower parts of the body, grill and taillight panel. And it’s all downhill from there to finish.

I was lucky to get as a gift two cans of the old testors gloss enamel clear. I decant it and airbrush it on.
