Okay everyone I have put the two Dodge Monaco’s away for now and have started on a MPC Magnum GT ll kit.

I was planning on building it with the kit parts pretty much out of box.
But it was missing some engine parts! So the I thought I could use the chassis & engine from the reissue 68 Dodge Coronet.

Unfortunately the wheel base was shorter and just didn’t look right as seen in the above photos.
So then I thought I’d combine to two chassis’s by using the front half of the 68 chassis and the rear of the original one. It looked better but still wasn’t right and after using the pins for the front wheels the front wheel track was narrower than the rear and didn’t look right.

I went to our club meeting Saturday night and when I got home I started looking for another option.
And Sunday morning I tried a chassis from a 68 Plymouth satellite four-door and it was short too!
Then I decided to try the tubbed chassis from the 73 Charger project and it looked way better!!

So I’m now building a new chassis from a 70 super bee kit.
And I’m going to use the double overhead cam Hemi in it.

Great project! You have a good start on it, too. I've been trying to find one of these at a price I can afford for a long time.
I seem to remember that this kit was based on the '66 Polara convertible kit, which would have had a longer wheelbase. But, I might be mistaken about that.

Yes and I’ve been working on the inter finder wells and I’ve made the chassis so it doesn’t have to be glued into the body and give me the option to put in a stock chassis underneath it if I want to.

Been doing a little test fitting on a spare chassis .
