Yeah, the desk is a mess, but I promise to get it cleaned up
This is the Revell '69 Yenko Nova kit, and it'll be a bit of a Day 2 build: Rat motor, smog pump & brake booster deleted, headers & traction bars added, likely a different exhaust system. Oddly there are no headers in the kit, but found a set on Feebay. Probably gonna get Cragars, and as much rear tire as I can stuff in there. Bucket seats dictated a blue/blue color scheme; I wanted dark (Fathom ?) green with green, but no green buckets that year.

Made some progress on the Nova, gotta figure out the exhaust. Dusk Blue (the darker blue) exterior, obviously blue interior.

Thanks - driven by bucket-seat-interior color choices, but I like the colors. Bought some Fathom Green paint when I bought the blues, so I guess there's yet another GM model in my future. There was a time about 12 years ago when I had 4 blue Plymouths. A couple friends joked about never telling me about another blue Plymouth for sale...

Thanks, guys. I'm not sure how old this kit is - instructions are from 2019, but I doubt they copyright them every year - but a heads-up for anyone building this kit: While the decals are nice, and pretty thorough, some - front side markers with engine designation in particular - don't adhere very well. Those came off a day later during handling. Reinforces my habit of clearing over them. Also, to get big tires in the back (315 drag radials from Fireball), I narrowed the rear axle at its outer flanges and enlarged the backing plate holes to .125. Today it'll get clear coat and I'll ponder the exhaust system...

Coming along - built an exhaust system, which was pretty simple & easy, and today it's getting the exterior details. It's a pretty nice kit.

Now that’s the kind of gloss I like. 😁

Funny how dust shows up in photos, but not by eye...

Thanks, guys - it's a far, far cry from a Goofy62 build, but I had it in my head. Now back to mangling a Mopar kit !

very nice build. great paint!! even though they didn't have green interior back then, i still would of went with green if thats what you wanted. you could of said it was 1975 and you switched out the interior. i never knew there were not headers in that kit.? then again, it builds as a "stock" Yenko. don't really know if they came with headers or not. how do you like the fireball drag radials?
