71 Demon 340

I’m still working on my Demon. Which will be FC7 purple.

Got the body work done in white primer. Had to fill in the low spots in each door where the mold is connected on the inside. This created a low spot in each door on the outside. While this was a good idea. I don’t think they realized how it affects the body.

I decided to not paint the blackout hood. But just leave it all purple. The decals are not correct and it would be a pain to tape it off correctly.

Got the under hood paint and engine area ready. The plan is to tape off under the hood and put it on the body so the color will be consistent.

Engine is almost ready to install. I just have to cut off the tail shaft to fit the chassis.

Wired the 340 and added the coil and decals.

Got the interior finished with the correct automatic shifter. Painted the metallic seat inserts Tamiya metallic grey.


Replaced the Firestones with correct Goodyear polyglas tires. Grill is ready also.

Thanks. That stuff sure stinks but it dries with a wet look. Instead of buffing the whole car. I’m just going to hit the spots that need it and see how it looks.

Got the Demon finally finished today.











The decals were cut close with a ruler and exacto knife. I also used a good scissors the cut the curved sections. Unfortunately the Dodge decals that come with the kit are dark almost black. I guess you can use them for a light color car but not on this color. For the money they ask for these kits you’d think they could print the scripts in silver. And I noticed too late that the door handles and locks on the doors are too low. This is why the side stripes cover the locks. Anyway this is my take on a the Demon 340.
