Thanks Joe! The coil is a missing link to the engine and why don't the manufacturers add them, I don't know. Since this kit mimics the original. They didn’t include the coil. Also if you didn’t notice there is no oil filler cap on the right side valve cover on the engine either. |

Yeah, this kit is a throwback to the old days of MPC. I think while many builders love the old kits for what they didn't have, modern builders prefer the newer kits that don't leave out details like an ignition coil or an oil filler cap. I painted my missing parts and I decal the dash, but the decal didn't settle into the dash like I hope it would. The speedo and gauges were too tall and I used a lot of setting solution just to get the decal were it is. I have seen pics of one, but I have never actually seen a manual shifter with a console on an A body car.    |

My decals laid down with a lot of setting solution. They are not perfect, but they are on! I have finished the chassis and the interior. I should have painted the wood grain on the dash and then used the individual decals in place of the entire decal strip. The body is next!    |

The last year for console with a manual transmission was 1969. After that no console was available on A bodies. That’s why I converted my Demon to automatic transmission.

Thanks Joe and Ed! If I had known that, I might have tried an auto trans. Ultimately, I decided to go for a box stock type of look. I have several pictures of a Demon 340 with an almost blacked out hood. It's not stock, but I like it!  |
