My newest project-AMT's International Scout II. This kit is only a couple of years old, but it is molded in the same colored plastic as my old International SSII Scout from ERTL. This kit was a gift from my friend Tim Rhine and it has no decals which is not a problem for me. My body paint will be Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green and the interior will be a dark tan. The interior will have the CB radio installed under the dash and the antenna mounted on the roof. One of the things this kit is known for is the lack of a radiator on this inside of the engine compartment. If there is room for one, I will add a radiator to the engine compartment to match the one on the outside of the engine compartment.

I'll be watching this project! I tried to trade my '74 Oldsmobile for a '75 Scout in '75. Dealer didn't think the Olds was worth anything, so I went and traded for a new '75 Dodge Coronet.

Keep watching! Sounds like the dealer wasn't about to have any old Oldsmobiles on his lot!

You are correct, no pan cover included. I just sanded it and painted it. Kit is looking good so far Mike!!!

Thanks Joe and Keith! I was able to find a transmission pan in my parts box! It's close, but not exact. I think it is for a Mopar 727.

This is identical to the one I tried to trade for.

Keith, you are just like myself and others...the one that got away! I finished the engine assembly with wiring the engine and adding an ignition coil. The transmission pan has been added to the bottom of the trans. Now to paint the chassis black. I have also determined that this Scout II is over a 1979 vintage.

Fantastic shade for the Scout! The white top will really set it off!
