Years ago I saw a custom Dodge van with a Chrysler Cordova front end. And I’ve wanted to build a model of it ever since I saw it. But there was one problem, there is no kit of a Chrysler Cordova!! At least I thought so until I found out that someone in Finland that makes a resin 1975 Chrysler Cordova. I bought it and it arrived the other day and it’s a good thing I only wanted to use the front end & grille because it’s a pretty bad cast! Anyways I wasted no time in cutting the Chrysler Cordova front end off of the body and then doing a quick mock up with a Dodge van body. I was also able to make contact with the owner of this who built it and has owned it since the mid ‘70’s I spent about an hour on the phone with him and found out he also owned the custom Redd Fox tow truck about 20 years ago! This will be a long-term project. I have STS decals working on doing some of the murals that are on this paint job.

A nice, wild project! Very interesting. And thanks for the heads up on the resin Cordoba. I was thinking about getting one as I owned a '76 Cordoba and wanted to build a replica.

Very interesting subject. Hope you didn’t pay too much for that casting.

Very interesting subject. Hope you didn’t pay too much for that casting. That depends what on how you look at it. It’s something I needed and I was willing to pay for it. I just picked this up from a buddy of mine because it has some custom parts that I need for this build. And another buddy of mine bought this 3D file so I can get the octagon steering wheel I need.

Cool steering wheel. I've never seen one like that. I did help a buddy make a chain steering wheel back in the 70's. He formed the shape and I tig welded the links together. Big fun back then. It was heavy. He had it chrome plated. I bet it was hot in the middle of July in Tennessee!!!

That's different... looking forward to seeing it come together. That resin casting really is rough, I can't imagine sending something like that out with my name attached to it.

Yep, I’ve had several conversations with the owner of the van JR and he has sent me a lot more photos and I found out some interesting stuff about him in his lifetime. He’s actually owned a couple of famous Show Rods. He has owned the Redd Foxy wrecker, as well as the roach coach and this van (first photo below)
