Never had a problem with my ex wife as long as it didn’t interfere with her spending money 💰. No problem now with my girl friend.

My wife doesn't care how many I get because she knows where I am. I'm either working on my real cars or the models. I told her before we married I'm into cars if that's a problem tell me now. We've been together 34 years.

I don't bother. She just picks up the mail, signs for packages, then delivers them to me in that cold, chilling silence that 20 years of marriage develops perfectly.

I don't get a whole lot of flack from the better half. She has developed one big question when a new kit shows up, "When are you actually going to BUILD one?" Hmmm.

My wife tolerates my purchases & my building because she knows exactly where I am. I could be scurrying off to hang out with my buddies at the bar every Friday night. Instead, I'm at home going through model boxes looking for that key part, or contemplating the paint color on my next project.

I just got questioned tonight about one of my big cars while out at dinner-
"Tell me the truth. Is your Challenger a daily driver?"
"Sure it is. In good weather."

My days of sneaking kits in the house were over once I install our new door bell with the camera in it!! Now she knows about every kit I bring into the house, but she really doesn’t care how many I bring home, as to what I pay for them that’s a whole different story and I hope she never try’s to sell them for what I said I paid for them!! 😱😱😱😱

I just now had an exchange with the wife about buying kits. I just bought a couple kits off of an individual. The total with shipping was just under 50 bucks. I handed the wife a crisp 50 and told her it was for 2 kits I just bought. She just looked at me and I said, "It's a belated birthday present". She just took the fifty and asked if she needed to make an entry in the checkbook. Simple as that.
Yeah, I really do have a good wife. She doesn't kick a whole lot about this modeling hobby. I quit drinking many years ago, then my danged disability knocked out pretty much every hobby I had. Sitting in the house day after day, not being able to do what I want wears on me and she knows it. She figures the modeling keeps me busy and keeps me out of the bars. Same thing with my taking over the QuarterMilers forum. She knows that if I spend too long on the computer my headache flares up, but she also knows that the time I spend taking care of the forum keeps me busy. She's a pretty good woman.

I just picked a Zinger kit up from a guy and was showing my wife and her response was" Don't you have enough in boxes out there already" Hmmm Might have to not tell her I'm planning a trip to Paul's soon.... And I just brought home a stack of vintage vinyl...hope she doesn't see that!!! Stace
