A buddy of mine sent me one of his model car bodies to fix for him. He included a donor body so I had what I needed to fix the broken body.
I began by hand filing both sides of the broken post so they are straight for the donor piece. Then I used different small files and completely removed all of the vent window framing.
Next was to cut off the piece I needed off the donor body. Then I used the Dremel to get all the extra plastic off around the donor piece. When I was real close to the part I needed I used the small files and sand paper to make the part the right size. Then I added a strip of thin plastic to the underside of the body from the top to the bottom of the post. Then just a bit of minor fit, remove, sand, and re install. This is the body with the repairs done. All that is left is some light putty and sanding. Took me about 3 hours total to make this repair.
