What have you got in mind for it? I'm on my phone right now so can't see well enough to tell if there are problems with it as is. Will this be just a "refresh" of the current build, or are you going for a completely different type build? I've always liked Dusters & Demons.

I want to build a factory Rallye car out if it with a go wing, proper scoop, stripes, canopy vyminyl top, and a 360 engine and retain all stock MPC chassis and interior. Just have to find Rallye wheels.

That sounds like a real winner. I've probably got a kit in my stash somewhere that has Rallye wheels in it, if I just knew which kit it was. If you know for sure, let me know and I'll see if it happens to be a kit I'm planning on using 3rd party wheels on.

I have seen these correct wheels made in resin too. I know all the kits have the wrong center caps (70-71 Mexican hat caps) and this one will need the 72 and later acorn nut caps. I just have to keep looking. Got time. Still have a dozen recent projects on the bench and probably 75 stalled builds on the shelf. Have to quit buying projects to strip and restore and start clearing the slate of the old stalled out stuff lol.

This Melrose Missile car is extensively examined in the www.allpar.com website. There are a lot of things about it not readily apparent in photos, things that add difficulty and visual interest.

There are a lot of things about it not readily apparent in photos, things that add difficulty and visual interest. that car had oodles of tricks done to it. although it was a mule (a test car) I don't think it ever made a pass.... "At that time the Hemi was being penalized by NHRA and smaller cars like the Maverick and Vega had an advantage; hence an all-out weight reduction program. The “wire car” was never raced, but had the program continued, it might have ended up on the strip as another Mopar Missile, or at least guided the way for a new, ultralight Missile." it would have been neat to see this car run. I bet some of those tricks made it to the cars being raced. I bet there was a lot od shenanigans going on back then. these guys were masters at not really playing by the rules.

The coolest thing about this car is it won just about everything in 74. Nobody could figure out why. The kept looking at it, inspecting it etc and could not find out why it was faster than all the others. The fact that this car was cut in half from front to back right down the middle of the car and 3 inches was taken out of the car left everyone speechless when they found out. This car was parked right next to other Dusters and nobody saw it. I have seen the real car and it has a fiberglass E Body dash shell on it is strange. This was one cool car.
