I have noticed that most kits have clear plastic for headlight lenses which are a kind if foggy white when on the car. Not very realistic. Any suggestions? I thought if putting gloss clear on the lenses for a realistic shine.

My headlight skills need to improve.
I recently started coating them with Future, which gets them more shiny, and can attach them to the headlight buckets, but I'm interested to see what others do.

I don't do anything, if the kit has the clear headlights, just glue them in with that stuff called crystal clear. it's the chrome headlights I hate. sorry for the boring answer, anymore, I cant get my paint to look real, so I am not too concerned about it.

If they're "foggy white" once installed, it's likely that the glue you are using is causing them to fog. Glue them in using a "clear parts cement" or a white glue like Elmers & they should look good.
Chrome headlights are best drilled out and replaced with clear lenses.

I've seen some clear lenses with a circle of BMF applied to the back before being glued in. I always use TESTORS Clear Parts Cement & Window Maker. It's sorta white when it comes out of the bottle, but dries clear.
I have in the past used a thinned white paint on chrome headlights, but Steve's suggestion to drill 'em out is the best way.
