I built this LRE about 10-12 years ago. It needed and good cleaning and a rebuild. I spent some time working on the grille of this truck and I'm not 100% happy with it. I found these air tubes in my parts box. I'll see if I can make them work... More to come...

Don't know where I read it, but if you take a bendable source, like solder, or are able to heat up some styrene and bend it in the shape you want. Once you get that, wrap it in fine wire, tight with no gaps. Then cover that with a few coats of white glue. Let it dry, than paint it flat black and vua-la, air tubes.

I have heard of a similar process using black wire and wrapping it with thin wire and superglue.

I spent a few minutes on the LRE this morning. The mirrors have been remounted. The mirror on the passenger side gave me the most trouble. I ended up drilling a hole through the base plate and into the door for the mirror. Now it's not going anywhere! Still need to do some work on the engine compartment. More to come...

Thanks Ed! It'll look good on the shelf, but it's not a show table truck...

Sharp LRE! I bought a real one back in '78. Drove it out of the showroom, myself! This one looks like mine, except for the wheels. Great job on the rebuild, sir!!
P.S. How did you do the blue dot taillights?

P.S. How did you do the blue dot taillights? Really easy! I used a fine tip brush and some Tamiya X-23 Clear Blue paint and put a drop of paint onto the center of the taillight.

Well! I wouldn't have thought that would show up good on the red lenses! Learn something new everyday!!
