the picture says coronet 500 convertible. but Plymouths didn't have that air cleaner on their cars. it was the round unsilenced one. does the johan 300 have that air cleaner? any kits have that air cleaner?

That's an air cleaner for a '71 - 383 or 440. As for what cars it was on, everything I'm turning up kind of indicates it was on Dodges and Plymouths. Check this page out: www.nicksgarage.com/aircleaner.htm  . |

Tubb’s yes the 68 Chrysler 300 kit does have this type of air cleaner but its a 2 piece where you have to attach the 2nd snorkel. A couple years ago I found some resin ones and picked them up. With it having Magnum on it is a Dodge engine.

ok, that explains it. never looked for the second snorkel. in that list, it says 65 thru 67 383,413 and 440's had them too. so if I build a 67 440 GTX or coronet R/T, I need one of these, right?

I know this type air cleaner is featured on the Chrysler and Imperial 440 'TNT' engine. Those also had dual exhaust. This option was supposedly good for at least ten more ponies under those large hoods!

I think it was a johan piece. the ones in the charger are a real nice piece. thanks. |

nice. that goes on a lot of cars. I want a dozen just so I can throw them out like in real life. you know, when you brought your new Mopar home, and the first thing you did was yank that sucker off.
