Any suggestions for what to use to put class designations on windows? If there was a good choice to use to simply write the class on the windshields and/or side windows it would have to be lots easier and better looking than decals. It would be great if any of the various ink/paint pens would work. Then it really would be just writing the letters on there.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.

I’d practice on some spare glass first get get a feel for how the ink flows. I have a feeling it’s easy to make a mess if you’re heavy-handed / don’t have a light touch.

Yeah. I'd say that's some sound advice, especially since I have problems with my right hand anyway. It's hard for me to tell how much, or how little, pressure I'm exerting with that hand.
Since you brought that up and I have trouble, I'll ask the next logical question. How difficult is it to remove the Sharpie from the glass if it's messed up? What's the best way to try and remove it? Or,,,,, is it just impossible to remove?

Good question. I’m not sure. I tried it on a spare windshield, then dove right in to my kit’s glass. No issues, so I never looked back.

You could use a white gel pen. It's finer than a sharpie. As for taking it off you can use auto wax and buff it off.

OK. Can you educate a non-artist? What's the difference between the fluid in a Sharpie versus what's in a gel pen? I know absolutely nothing about that sort of thing. I've purchased several Sharpies and several gel pens based on what has been recommended for different tasks by guys on various forums. Not that it will make a difference, but I'll ask anyway.

I’m not an artist per se, but this is the Sharpie I was referring to. If memory serves me right (haven’t used it in awhile), you depress the tip to get the ink flowing to the tip.

OK. I've got one of those exact Sharpies. It's still in the package.
