To be honest I may have been the worst on the poor guy over the last year or so. But seriously, his dislike, no honest to god hatred of slant sixes, is his choice. Further, his issues with painting could have come for his unwillingness to deal with anything but perfection. Of course, he does choose projects that are very dear to his heart, so that may be why he expects his paintwork to live up to a certain standard.
That being said maybe if you, Mr. Tubbs, were to build something maybe less important to you, you wouldn't be so obsessed about how it was coming along and actually would finish something. Try maybe something like an '80 Volare with a six-cylinder that it would have come from the factory with. I'd be willing to bet you'd have that one off your bench in no time. You could paint it any color you wanted and it wouldn't need to be perfect because you're going to donate it to the nearest round receptacle as soon as you finished it anyway. Although I'd recommend you put it up for auction on this site, you'd be surprised at how many of us would bid on that one!!!!
