well, got some work done on this. even took pictures, but left the camera at home. this model is 80% complete, I went to change the motor from a Ford SOHC to a hemi a while ago, but the hemi is too long. its the overhead cam hemi. so it got put in the box.
now, its back on the bench. to me, also, it was sitting like a hiboy and I wanted to get the body lower on the frame, so I did that part yesterday, taking sections out of the firewall and rear seat panel dividing the trunk from the interior. I just have to cut the seat down, but that will be later on. this will save me a lot of time, now I don't have to "Z" the frame. next will be stretching the frame and dropping the grille to make the hood level with the lowered body. I didn't want the motor thru the hood, but with the lowering of the body, I may have no choice unless I run the single 4 bbl manifold instead of the tunnel ram.
I need to strip the paint off of it and redo the interior. don't know if I am going to keep the street rod look of the interior or make it a little racier. we will see. pictures to come soon.

here is the overhead cam hemi that is going in. by dropping the body down, the carbs and air cleaner will not clear the hood. do I bust a hole in the hood or run the single 4 bbl manifold and keep everything under the hood?

i have done some more work on it, lots of cutting and sectioning of interior stuff to drop the body down onto the frame more. this is kind of what I am going for. I wanted for the frame not to show beyond the body, like this one. if you look at the others, the frame sticks out from beneath the body.

Givin your examples above, my recommendation for the hood is... leave it off. You obviously are going for the over the top engine look so use the tunnel ram and leave the hood in the box.

motor and trans plates being roughed out of some scratch styrene and mounted to the block. I cut the bell housing off, marked it and reattached it. hope its square.
