I just ran across an article that piqued my interest. It stated that the Charger was the "ultimate"muscle car for Dodge in 1969. Granted the Charger was definitely a very interesting muscle car in '69 with the Charger 500 and the Daytona being offered, but I just always leaned toward the Super Bee A12 as the "ultimate" for '69. The Super Bee was Dodge's answer to the Plymouth Road Runner and the special A12 cars of '69 (or '69 1/2) included all the extra "goodies" including that beefed up 440, the heavy duty auto trans or A-833 four-speed with Hurst shifter and linkage, and a 9¾-inch Dana 60 with 4.10:1 gearing.
That's just my opinion. What about you guys? Which would you call the "ultimate" Dodge muscle car for '69?

Well, they made almost 90,000 Charger R/Ts vs about 35,000 Super Bees in 1969.
That being said, I used to own a 68 Charger, and have a 69 Bee now. I prefer the Bee for many reasons. I bet the average person would pick a Charger though. More iconic / mainstream.

And they only made about 1,400 A12 cars.

As far as I'm concerned, all the '69 "B" body Dodges were "Ultimate"......Charger, SuperBee, Coronet R/T. But, if ya had all three lined up for me to pick one to grace my driveway, I'd choose the Charger R/T. I like the smooth looks of the the Charger body, and the hide-away headlights set it off. Same goes for the '68 "B" body Dodges, too.
Of course, that's just one dumb ol' pipefitter's opinion!

For me the choice is simple. 69 & 1/2 Super Bee 440 6 Pack. It's lighter than either the Charger or the Coronet R/T.
