That's funny Bucky, I broke a mount in my 65' Comet too... I didn't have my '65 Comet long enough to do that.

I picked up a bottle of 91% Alcohol at the drug store and poured some into a container and put the Mustang hood in it. After a few days, I scrapped the edge of it with a pair of tweezers and the paint run was starting to come off. The rest of the paint should be easy to come off later. A mockup to show you where I am at with this build. More Boss 302 to come...

Yeah, I should! I just took stock of all the projects that need to be finished. I had started them and then just lost interest for one reason or the other. Eventually, I'll get to them...

I've got a few on the boil, so to speak. Sometimes, it bogs me down trying to pick one to work on!

Thanks Joe and Keith! The hood has been in the container with the alcohol for several days. I think it's ready to be scrubbed.

I took the hood out of the 91% alcohol and washed it good. It looked more like a hood off of a wreck in a bone yard. The last picture is after five minutes of sanding with 150 grit sandpaper. More sanding, a good bath and then primer and paint...again! More Boss 302 to come...

The alcohol did loosen the paint quite a bit. The sanding wasn't that hard.

Well, after 2 years this one is heading back to the bench! I've been thinking about this for two weeks and how it should be finished. Time to get this one finished!
