I had posted this build in the wrong place. Sorry! I wasn't paying attention to what I was suppose to be doing! My new project for the Classic Plastic Model Club Club Challenge. The '69 Mustang Boss 302! My paint will be Tamiya TS-89 Pearl Blue. More to come...

I have done a little work on the Boss 302. The engine is mostly assembled and partially painted. I added some Detailer to the carb to bring out some detail. I'll paint the transmission before it is installed in the chassis. More to come...

nice. off to a great start. I wish I had half your bench time and a quarter of your building ambition. always thought 69 mustangs were the best looking. is that a new issue? I have a few of those kits, older issues, and they all have the shaker hood. does this have a flat hood in it?

This is the new kit. Supposed to be all new tool. The older Boss Mustang kits are 1970 year models. Here's one of the old kits:

Thanks Keith and Al! The '69 Boss 302 kit is a mix of the Cobra Jet, Shelby convertible and the new Boss 302 parts. I have long wanted a better '69 Mustang kit and here it is! There is a resin front end for the '69 Mustang that is ordered here in the USA, but cast in Russia. Most of the time the resin front end is out-of-stock. This kit comes with a flat hood and the shaker scoop is included on one of the parts sprues. No '69 Boss 302 ever had the shaker scoop.

I had the paintbooth fired up again this afternoon and I decided to paint the chassis and the bottom of the interior tub with some Bright Touch Red Oxide Primer. I'll give this a chance to dry overnight and paint the edges with Tamiya TS-89 Pearl Blue. More to come...

Yeah, it is bright. I was told some time ago that it was the wrong shade of red primer for a Mustang chassis. To me, red primer is red primer. I could add more coats of primer with the hope of making it darker.

It's looking real good, Mike. I like the '69 Mustang. It had great lines and a really nice, aggressive stance. The Boss, either 302 or 429, was a wicked street machine too. I'm looking forward to seeing that blue paint applied.

Thanks Steve and Keith! I like the Boss 302, but I LOVE the Boss 429! Someday I am going to attempt to build a 1969 Boss 429 Mustang in 1/25 scale!
