Do you suppose filmmakers will EVER come to the realization that rubber tires just will NOT make long, piercing, screeching sounds when spun or skidded on loose dirt or gravel? I think I was 11 or 12 when that first started bothering me. No matter how many times I spun the tires on the pickups on the farm, I could never get them to squeal like the movies.
Yep. Makes you go, "Hmmmm".

Here is another. Why is it that in the movies and TV shows when a guy gets shot in the arm, he limps? Ever notice that? You've seen it, there's a shootout of cowboys and Indians or cops and robbers and one of the good guys gets shot in the arm or shoulder. The first thing that happens is one of the other good guys has to help the guy up, then has to half carry him, and all the while the guy shot is limping and can barely walk.
Makes you go, "Hmmmm".

In the Blues Brothers, while they are being chased, one scene shows a view from the rear. The back window has been shot out. Not long after that scene....that same back window is being shown shattering from a hail of bullets! HMMMMMMMMMMMM..........

I remember the old fifties TV show Superman. Every time the bad guys shoot at him and empties the gun. And after all the bullets bounce off him they throw the gun at him. Superman ducks! Hmmmmmm.

I remember a show on TV that had car thieves in it. They would grab a car, run it thru a body shop, and paint it another color, then sell it out the back door. One car they stole was a 1963 Impala. They ran it thru the shop for a repaint, and it came out the back a different color, all right....it was also a 1964 Impala! HMMMMMMMMMMM............

Good ones, guys! That's exactly the kind of stuff I was talking about. I got started watching for goof ups on TV when I was a kid. I was watching TV at my grandfolks house with my granddad and some western was on. I can remember granddad giving his hoarse chuckle and I asked what was funny. It was a scene where the Indians were chasing a stagecoach or some kind of wagon. The camera had shot the scene from a distance and in the sky in the background was a clear jet trail. Extremely noticeable and danged funny.๐
By the way, your "Hmmmm" moment doesn't have to be from a TV show or movie. Those just happened to be a couple I had recently. Just wanted to clarify that. I'd post up some "Hmmmm" moments about my wife, but I'm scared she might somehow see it. ๐

This always makes me chuckle. ๐
Companies are constantly advertising that their product, whatever it is, is "new and improved".
If it's "new", how can it be "improved"? "Improved" compared to what? It's "new".
Hmmmm.

I knew a guy a long time ago who had a refrigerator that wasn't cooling properly. He started messing around with it, and said he found out that the cord was pinched in the door, cutting down on the voltage, thereby reducing the cooling power. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..................

Think back a bit to the whole Hillary/Benghazi affair. Then ask yourself this question. If Hillary was innocent, why were her 2 lawyers, her aides, and the computer specialist all given immunity deals?
Hmmmm.

I have a few, but they are all related to people being stupid, not so much a hmmm moment. then there is the obvious one, checking the "6 cylinder" box when ordering your new car back in 1968. hmmmm.
or, going to the food court at the mall, getting a few things and giving the girl a $20 for a $4 bill. she accidently put $200 in the regester. she stared at it a few minutes, sighed, then called the manager over. I thought she was calling him over because she punched in too much in the registerโฆ oh no, it was because she could not figure out how much change to give me because it didn't come up in the "little window" as she called it. man, good thing she was a hot little number cause she aint getting too far on her brains.

A current one here in my area.
There is a scrolling message at the bottom of the TV screen during lots of shows on our local Channel 2. The message says, "Attention DirecTV customers. On July 3rd DirecTV removed WTWO, Channel 2 from their lineup. Make your voice heard. Call DirecTV and tell them you want WTWO, Channel 2 back."
If they removed that channel from their lineup, how would anybody ever see that message?
Hmmmm.
