Not sure how many of you guys have purchased the new Revell AAR 'Cuda kit, but I know you did, Marty. I'm wondering how different it is from the older AAR kits. Could somebody take time to give a little insight on this kit? Marty, if you happen to be the only one with the new kit, I'm curious as to what is new and/or improved in this new kit versus the older ones. I have 2 of the older kits and I'm wondering if I should be actively searching for a good deal on the new kit. Thanks in advance to anybody that can shed some light on this. And sorry if I put you on the spot, Marty.

The AAR 'Cuda kit is based on the new 1/25 scale Revell '70 Hemi 'Cuda kit and is not related to the previous Monogram 1/24 scale AAR kits from the past. The kit has a new 1/25 scale 340 6 barrel engine, hood and rear spoiler.

I haven't opened mine yet, but do know it's a new kit and has nothing to do with the older kit. But I'm sitting at my work bench and am going to open it up and take a look at it now.

OK. Thanks to both of you guys. I guess I'd best start watching for a good deal. No reason not to have 3 AAR cars especially if it's an all new kit. I might even buy one of the new kits and then use one of the two older kits I have for trade material.
Thanks to both of you again! 👍

OK. I just went and checked on mine. I have the Revell AAR kit that has the green car on the box and then I have the Revell Motor City Muscle kit that has a yellow car on the box.

I will have to check at home with mine, but I believe the one with the real car on the front is junk!! its basically the T/A challenger with the body massaged to look like a cuda. I think you are alright with the other one. you cant miss with the new release!!

I guess I might need to see about picking one of the new kits up. Be sure and let me know which kit is the junk one. I'll either trade it off or use it to experiment with. If any of the parts/pieces like the motor are worth keeping, let me know that too.

The old AAR 'Cuda kit is actually a Monogram 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A kit with a 'Cuda body stretched over the chassis. When they stretched the body, the result was a longer and flat roof line. It has been around for a long time and it does build up nicely. 11 years ago, I built the revised Monogram AAR kit with the intention of just building a nice looking AAR 'Cuda and I got dumped on because the body wasn't perfect. I told them my intentions and they left me alone after that. The result was a decent looking AAR 'Cuda that no one else had ever replicated. Over the years, I have seen many others start to "correct" the old kit by kitbashing it with the Monogram 1971 Hemi 'Cuda kit and I don't recall ever seeing one finished.

I read a good review on this kit a little while ago.
