I saw a kit on eBay a couple of days ago that had my interest. The problem was the shipping charge the guy showed would pay to ship a small water buffalo. So I sent him a message and asked if he would double check the shipping charge. He sent two separate replies. The first one told me that he wouldn't do it because I wouldn't give him what he wanted for the kit anyway. He went on to say that the amount was what eBay told him the shipping charge was. I didn't bother replying because I knew there was absolutely NO sense in trying to reason with the guy. NEVER attempt to argue and reason with someone who has the same IQ and shoe size. But then a little while later I got another email from him. It cleared things right up for me. He told me in no uncertain terms that the amount he was charging was the correct amount because, and I quote, "The shipping is cheap, there are 2 more on eBay just like the one I have for sale with shipping more than mine" Now, how in the Hell could you argue with THAT? He MUST be right.

A seller can set his own shipping rate.
