So Iβm working on my dodge service truck and I think I want to try and make some brackets for the alternator and the power steering pump? Whatβs the easiest way to make them all I want them to do look like they are brackets. Thanks

Most often brackets can be made with styrene stock.
The latest one that I've done was the alternator bracket for my '65 Fury.
It might not be 100% correct, but it looks pretty good.
It was made with nothing more than a piece of sheet plastic, shaped and a couple of holes drilled in it and some small rod inserted.
One through the bracket, and the other into the block for a locator pin.

That came out looking great too!
Now the question is how in the world do you hold onto something that small without it launching into the abyss never to be seen again?

Locking tweezers is what I use to hold small parts.

I'm a bit of a detail freak at times, but not that much.
I may look into some hex rod at some point if it exists in the correct sizes, but as far as I know, my LHS only carries Evergreen stock and to my knowledge, no hex rod.

all the hobby shops in a 25 mile radius have closed around me. I am poking Hobby Lobby to start getting plastic rod in. They haven't yet.

My nearest supply of Evergreen is 68 miles away.........I could order the stuff, but I never have. I wonder how it would hold up in the mail?

I don't think that I would worry a lot about ordering it on line.
I lost my only hobby shop in the previous city that I lived in way back in the 90s, so I went without for a long time.
Just by a stroke of luck, we landed near a city that still has a LHS when we moved.
It's quite small and they don't carry a lot, but they do have some of the essentials.
I buy from them when I can.

So Al told me that the Revell Dart kit came with a nice alternator that has a bracket attached to it. So today I started making a mold to cast some! ππ»ππ» That's one way to skin a cat!
