One of the Shapeways vendors sells Ford's 3D frames but he only has big scale ones which is weird because most models are 1/25 scale. I have asked the vendor if he would make 1/25 scale frame. I think it is not a problem in 3D printing.
Has anybody bought from Shapeways?

That particular vendor is obviously all about larger scales. He may not be open to resizing his files for other scales. Shapeways is strictly the 3d printing end of the company. Many people that have the ability to create 3d files and catalogs simply go through Shapeways to get their designs to customers. There are many sellers throughout Shapeways site that create products in 1/24-1/25 scale. Do a search and you may find what you're looking for from another seller. I have bought many items from different sellers through Shapeways with no problems.

I have seen a lot of printed parts on several different forums that Shapeways has produced. There are a lot of good looking products coming from them. Wayne has a great idea about searching them out.

Thanks Wayne. I found a lot of interesting 1/25 parts but not the chassis.

This seller informed he can cam make 1/24 frame but only boxed version. That's ok for me. He offers two material: White Natural Versatile Plastic $15 and Smooth Fine Detail Plastic $37.50. Is White Natural Versatile Plastic good enough for models?

Never heard of that. I would have to ask for a few more details about those plastic materials.

Somebody on Shapeways is making '69 Road Runner grilles, and I plan on buying a couple. Noticed the 2-tier finish, and plan on buying the nicer ones. As far as I can tell, there's no other source for those parts, unless one surfaces on Feebay.

The Harts grilles seem to be the wrong scale - saw a few things on the web about them. Too wide, like 1/24 part vs 1/25. Haven't seen a review on the Shapeways part yet.

Received my Shapeways '69 RR grilles yesterday, checked them against the JoHan originals and on an AMT GTX shell. VERY nice piece, molded in clear. Fits exactly in the JoHan, so I guess that's what was used for dimensions. The AMT GTX will require a minor widening of the grille opening, and the solid wall behind the grille area interferes slightly with mounting depth. (Both issues are mentioned on the Shapeways site.)That wall should be removed anyway so one can see through the grille. I'm happy with the part ! Now I can build all the bucket-seat '69 Road Runners I want, haha...
