Funny that with my limited time at the bench, this is what has sucked me in. Things started off tonight when I realized too much of the grille area had chrome from the bumper. So I did some masking and sprayed some black. Not very noticeable, but I know it’s there. It’s been awhile, so I figured I’d experiment with Rustall and weathering powders to see what look I wanted. I decided to make some use of the Ertl car. This is what Step 1 (a dirty brown wash) looks like. Here’s Step 2, just on the passenger side of the hood, over Step 1. Not what I’m looking for when it comes to a car that’s been bombing through the desert. I put some Step 4 (fine dirt in a bottle) on the top of the Passenger fender, then applied the weathering powders in areas of the hood and fenders behind the bottles. Step 4, and powders, are where it’s at for this car. And if I go too far, I can always “knock down” the dirty look with the white powder. Here’s a picture of two 1/24 scale Challengers I did years ago. The weathered one is my version of the Vanishing Point car that would have made it. I like this look and will do something like this on the diecast I’m working on. M The chassis of the diecast was bugging me, so I decided to remove things so I can do some detailing. Holy cow... the Tapatalk app just told me I’ve reached my image upload cap for the month. WTF?! Never had this happen before. Kind of puts a damper on a tutorial, unless I want to pay for a VIP account. Hmm... I’ll have to do some homework on options. More to come later.

So Tapatalk customer service got back to me. They said a user with a free account can only post 50 pictures in a month.

That's one of the reasons I went with a paid hosting service. All the freebie sites have little "loophole" clauses like that. I forget what I pay, something like $20 or $25 a year for my Fotki account and I can post thousands upon thousands of photos. To be honest, I don't know that I ever actually tried to figure how many I can post.

It never seemed to have a limit in the past. This is a new one on me.

They could very well just have implemented the limit. It's also possible that the limit was always there, just not enforced. Now that lots of people use their free service, they are being forced to impose the restriction.
Then there is always the possibility they gave away their service to grow a customer base and now that it's established they are preparing to offer only paid service.
Lots of possibilities. Unfortunately, it's common on the Internet. The 'Net is still very young.

I’m back in business with pictures. Here’s how the chassis came on the car. Got some white overspray on there. Added some white weathering powder in places. And then started layering on some brown and gray. Along with some Rustall Step 4, dirt.

Back to the body. Masked the windows so the full coat spray I use won’t fog up the plastic. And here’s the body with a light dusting of brown weathering powder. Still plenty of work to do.

You're doing a bang-up job of providing step by step instructions. Very helpful!
