That doesn't look too realistic to me. The clean stripe down the middle of the top and the "globs" around the door handles don't seem to me to be how a car gets dusty and dirty. Am I wrong about that? Just saying,,,,,
EDIT: I looked at that diecast again. There was something still bugging me about how it looked. I finally figured it out. The grime behind the front wheels stops at the front edge of the doors. Why?

Maybe just trying to simulate what kicks up from the tire? It just looks like sloppy airbrush work to me.

Maybe just trying to simulate what kicks up from the tire? It just looks like sloppy airbrush work to me. I guess that's possible but I live in rural Illinois. Growing up, about half the roads in my area were still gravel. Then my wife & I lived on a gravel road for over 16 years. I saw a LOT of dirty, dusty cars including my own. The kickback dirt from the front tires started just behind the wheel wells near the bottom. From there it expanded backward in a 'V' shape angled upward across the door. Did that make sense? I'm not sure how well I explained that.

Makes sense to me. I think the diecast company just got it dead wrong.

It looks like a "hit-and-run" weathering job, to me. Kinda heavy handed.

Looks like a preteen's first attempt, or a corporate exec's idea of how it should look. Either way, both were just guessing.

I need to get this thing done this weekend. Still kind of struggling with motivation to go to the bench regularly. A few more pictures after layering on the weathering powder and dirt.

Now, that looks like it's been down a country road or two!

Now, that looks like it's been down a country road or two! I agree. Looks a lot better than the store bought version!

Where I grew up, just about every white, yellow, or light tan car looked like this.
