Yeah, I had heard about the 'Skins. The Patriots is news to me. How Damned sensitive are we going to be? Will we allow them to pressure us to change the names of Cities, Counties, and States? I wonder if they'll nix the name Illinois because of the Indian Tribe name. Maybe we'll just be called Chicago now. That cesspool in the northeast corner if this state pretty much rules the state anyway.

This country needs to grow a backbone! Too many people are feeling "offended" and the reaction now is to rename everything! Many of these people just want their 15 minutes of fame. I for one am sick of how this country is going to Hell!

I really dont want to get into this so here is the cliff note version, back stories are all twisted, there have been protests on opening day for years. NEVER have I seen a native American there. It is a few political idiots trying to get this done. With the way everything is going, they thought it was time to change it. They took Chief Wahoo off the uniforms last year. I still wear mine and sales have never been better. Oh, the Native Americans that were talked to years ago said it's not a problem.

Oh boy, here we go,

I called our local radio station. The had a thing to name the team. I told them we should be called the Cleveland Native Americans so when I, along with a whole bunch of people, can still call them the Indians. Of course, they are riding the band wagon and didn't like that too much, but nobody called and disagreed with me.

I also said that when I see Chief Wahoo and hear the name, Cleveland Indians, I think of the baseball team, I said if you see anything else, your a racist. They didn't like that at all.

Mike is right, people have to grow a pair, everything is NOT grey. History happened you cant erase it, and will repeat itself if we are not careful.

I'm with you, Al. I think we've gone WAY too far in the sensitivity area. While there is no reason or excuse to be deliberately racist about anything, that's no reason to simply erase large portions of this Nation's history. I was made aware of something a couple of days ago that I just did not know.

The whole story of how slaves came to be in the US of A is never made public. They would like us to believe that slavery was the result of white men's thinking. Nothing could be further from the truth. Slavery existed for thousands of years before the first white men came to the shores of this country. The Great Pyramids were built by slaves, and I believe that was just a couple of years before white men stepped on the shores of this Country.

The largest and most active slave traders were,,,,, are you ready for this? MUSLIMS. That's a fact. Feel free to check me out. The truth about black slaves is that rival tribes in Africa would fight and the winning tribe would capture members of the opposing tribe. They then took them north and sold them into slavery to Muslims. It was then the Muslims that began selling black slaves to whites in Europe, then in the US of A as the Colonies were established. As slave trade grew in popularity in the US, a large number of actual slave traders were, in fact, black themselves.

The one piece of info that is NEVER discussed is the fact that years before the establishment of the Colonies, the Muslims traded two to three times more WHITE slaves than black. The reason was that whites were generally easier to "train" since they had been taken from locations where organized and civilized villages and towns were, and the blacks being offered were from tribal villages in the jungle.

I guess my question would be, why aren't the protesters screaming bloody murder about Muslims? Instead of protesting them, thousands of blacks claim to be Muslim. I'm thinking that would be the very last thing I would want to claim to be if I knew the true history of slave trading.

The truly unfortunate thing is that the result of the protests and actions by extremely liberal politicians is that there will be an even greater divide between blacks and whites in this country. They are very intentionally driving a wedge in between the two races. Sure, lots of whites will side with the blacks and quite a few blacks are exempting themselves from the protests and will side with whites, but those will be the exceptions to the rule. It's a truly sad period in the history of the US of A.

Please take this for what it is, not what you would like to make it be. It's simply statements of facts and a little of my own opinion.

Because 1) people are not educated, 2) people hear what thay want to hear and 3) people are stupid, they react without thinking and never look at both sides. If you really think about it, minorities with this black lives matter thing, wouldnt it have a bigger impact if it was "all lives matter"?

Well said, Al. I think you pretty much have a handle on the situation.

One thing that REALLY bothers me about this current protest thing is that they are demanding that the police be disarmed and defunded. In other words, they want NO LAW ENFORCEMENT. Have any of those idiots stopped to REALLY think about that? Do they want a return to the Wild, Wild, West? Seriously? I guess we'll be seeing the re-emergence of Wyatt Earp and his troupe. We had towns without law enforcement back in Earp's day. There were dozens of men who made fantastic sums of money "taming towns". I guess I should buy some more ammo.

One other thing that bugged me was that we had a BLM protest right here in my small hometown. They were holding the "disarm and defund" signs. It blew my mind. I can absolutely promise you that our local law enforcement, both city and county, have NEVER crossed over the line with excessive force. So, what in the Hell were these idiots complaining about? Hell, 2 years ago we actually had a murder in town. It was the first one in DECADES! We don't have violent crimes here, unless you want to count an occasional beat down in one of the local bars. Our cops spend their time catching speeders, shoplifters, crack heads, and the VERY occasional burglar. So, what the Hell? Stupid, stupid, stupid. I considered going and heckling the protesters, but you know exactly who would have been arrested, so I decided to keep my butt right here.

I'm all for free speech and the right to peacefully demonstrate and protest. I even gave 6 years of my life defending the rights of those people to do that. I did NOT defend their right to destroy public property, demand racist opportunities, or create the kind of problems that existed in Spokane and other cities. They DO NOT have the right to do what they did. The Constitution is very clear in that your rights end when and where it directly infringes on MY RIGHTS. When protesters take over blocks of any town or city, impeding my right to travel in those areas, they in fact surrender their own rights and become a problem for law enforcement to act. Allowing the protesters to stay once they made it clear they intended to block all traffic, by foot or vehicle, they SHOULD have been arrested and carted off to jail. As a Country, we have become so stupidly politically correct that we allow the few to infringe on the rights of the many. That is as blatantly anti-Constitution as it gets.

OK. I've ranted long enough,,,,, again. And once again I'd like to point out that my comments are neither Conservative nor Liberal. I am an Independent registered with The State of Illinois as a member of the Constitution Party. I sit right in the middle. I have no intent to offend any member of this forum or any guest. I just point out stupidity when I see it.
