I had kind of hoped to mow the yard today. I don't think that will happen. The temp is 94 with 48% humidity. That puts the heat index in the range that keeps me inside. Not only that, there are small, popcorn storms popping up all over. These are the kind of cells that appear, then just kind of hang around without moving much in any direction. They eventually just die off. Right now there is one of those cells about 6 - 8 miles west of here. We just got winds from an outflow boundary from that cell here. Nothing major, just a brief period of 15 - 20 mph winds. A pretty lousy day to be outside.

It's just another beautiful day in Southeastern Illinois. Right now my personal weather station is reporting 91° with 63% humidity. That's a nice, cozy 104° heat index. It's one of those days that feels like a sauna. I walked outside just a while ago and it smacked me right in the face. I was really hoping to mow, but it rained just enough to make the grass nice and soggy.

I wish I was somewhere that it was in the 70s. I can't go out and do ANYTHING in these conditions.

Here in the Houston area last week we were in the 100s for a couple days along with our humidity of 48% or more. We’re cold this week only in the mid 90s with scattered thunderstorms.
