I have used Booster Aquarius aftershave splash for years and years. The place I had been buying from went out of business a while back. I searched and searched and finally found it at the Italian Barber. The price was right so I bought a couple of bottles. In case you're not familiar with it, if you got a haircut in the 50s, 60s, or 70s in a small barbershop, especially if it was in a small town, you probably know what it smells like. Most barbers back then would splash some on their hands, then rub it into your hair and scalp really well.
I had actually stopped shaving with a blade because I missed the Booster. I have been using an electric beard trimmer to shave my neck for a long while. Since the Booster arrived yesterday, I went ahead and dug the old safety razor out. Yes, that's one of those old fashioned thingies that you put a double sided razor blade in. I've never gotten a closer shave using any of these new fangled 17 blade, cooling Aloe strip, monster things. Give me the right razor blade, in the right safety razor, and it'll shave me closer than anything available. I have different three piece safety razors. Each one works best with different blades so I usually have 5 or 6 different brands of blades on hand. I need some more so I'm headed to the Italian Barber to see what they have in stock.
Yes, I prefer the old things in life. Old, simple, reliable, well made, and indispensable.

Yep. Every time I splash some on, I reminisce about days gone by. The barber I went to in my hometown was a very well known, hometown guy. He always applied Aquarius after he was done cutting my hair. If he wasn't too busy, he'd even grab the massager and give me a 4 or 5 minute scalp massage. That was always relaxing.
