ok, guys, again, i apologies for my absence last year, hopefully that is chevys and fords under the bridge. been thinking a lot about the forum and where its headed, if its headed anywhere at all. well, 2021 is here, its a new year and i am hoping we can push this site to another level.

first off, model of the month will continue with a few changes. i was going to put this up for voting, but i waited too long so i am calling the shots on this. you all gave input to it and i believe we are going to go all Mopar. so now instead of model of the month, it will be known as "Mopar of the month". here will be your themes starting in February... i liked a lot of the themes from last year, some not so much. please if you want to see changes, give me a shout and we can discuss it. one change, you can post as many builds as you wish.

February - XXX

March - non-hemi powered factory show room (this is NOT box stock)

April - A bodies

May - 8 is too much - a build powered by something other than 8 cylinders

June - red, white or blue. build must be one or any of these colors.

July - vans / trucks

August - Dodge B bodies (i build mostly Plymouths and maybe i can get a Dodge done)

September - all hemi, all day, all night!!

October - anything but factory stock.

November - something towing something.

December - a build you did with a back story, a built that has a special meaning.

so i hope everyone is happy with these. if not, lets talk about it. i do want to have another build-off, would like to start it around April, we can open discussions about that. besides me not finishing any buildoff i get into, these usually go over pretty good. anyone into a gift exchange? i am not a fan but i want to see what everyone thinks. how about a community build? you know, where someone does the interior, another does the body, motor and chassis are done by someone. i have seen this where the build is coordinated and where it is not, thats funny. this one bothers me a little because who ends up with the end product? yes, you can still post all our builds, Mopar and non Mopar.

this will be an ongoing post for a few days, i just thought i would post it now because i did a lot of typing and i dont want to lose it. comments welcome

Build off sounds good. Maybe it will get me motorvated.

I’m not as into the gift exchange or community building ideas. A local club tried the group build thing once. It fizzled when someone was slow to make their contribution a priority. It threw the pace off and the build was never finished.

I think mailing a community build from one person to the next throws an additional monkey wrench into the mix.

Yep, i agree 100% on everything, but, that doesn't mean others could get something going and i could be a viewer of the results. i most defiantly would not get involved in this, just was throwing it out to people who might be interested.

also, i was thinking the same on the buildoff. may get me more involved in my building, in which has gone by the wayside as of now. my bench has been sitting with the same builds on it since before my b-day.. and that was in early November!!

Tubbs glad to see you back. I like the change to Mopar of the Month and the themes you have listed. I’m not interested in a remote community build and depending on the subject and the timing of the the build off I might be in for it.

Will be nice to see some changes but the community build I wouldn't participate in... group builds are always good to create excitement and I would definitely try to join in... I think the themes for MOM limit who will participate too much but that's just me...

MOPAR of the Month sounds good to me. Themes can be a little limiting, but it does keep the same type MOPARS from being entered every month. A little trade-off, maybe?
I got into a community build project once. ONCE! LoL
About all it created was a lot of bickering. One builder didn't think the other builder was working to the same standards as his own work. That sort of thing. I also got into a "Pay It Forward" thing a year or two back. That fizzled out, too, and that was on a forum with about ten times the number of members as we have here at MIS.
Build-offs and Group Builds seem to stand a better chance of working on a smaller forum.

ok, we are scraping the communioty build. yes, some MOTM get a little limited, but others are wide open. i was thinking about if you dont have a theme build for that month, letting people enter something else, but i scrapped that too. we have some time if you guys would like to tweek the list, it will cost you a kit to do so, na, just kidding... or am I??
