Kinda looks like Q5 Seafoam Turquoise - a great color scheme, and ironically my current project. Great minds, eh ? Yep! Nice project, too! I started on the body by adding the side markers. I used 4 shirt pins inserted into holes that I drilled with my pin vise and a small drill bit the size of the pin shaft. I painted the lenses with an amber and a red Sharpie. And, I couldn't resist a mockup! More Barracuda to come...

Thanks Joe and Al! I kept looking at my side markers and I felt that they could be more. Last night, I sliced 8 styrene rings from a 3/32 inch tube. I only needed 4, but sliced 8 just in case I would loose one or more. This morning I painted them with Model Master Aluminium Metalizer and then I attached them to the side marker pin heads I had previously made. I need to go back and touchup the side marker with some Tamiya Clear Orange and Clear Red. I am not 100% happy with them as they do stand out from the body quite a bit. More Barracuda to come...

Don't know if this helps, but here's a photo of a '68 Formula S I used to own. Plenty of side marker photos on the interwebs, too, for a closer look.

Thanks for the picture. I have seen plenty of pictures from Google Images and I think I need to rethink my process.

You might have to sand them down thin to get the effect you want.

I tried sanding them down and it does look a lot better than before.

With the tubes glued to the pinheads, I sanded them down, applied some Molotow Liquid Chrome and Tamiya Clear Orange and Clear Red paint. Now, they are closer to the body and son't look as bad as they did before. More Barracuda to come...

Thanks Joe! I tried to slice the styrene as thin as I could, then someone suggested that I sand them down. I thought to myself, "Why didn't I think of that?"

yep, that looks much better. i thought of using metal tubing that has a thinner side wall, but that may have been too thin. i think what you did works well.

Thanks Al! I keep looking at those pictures of my side markers and I wonder how I could have done those differently. Differently meaning better. Up close, the tubing does look a little thick. I suppose I could have drilled it out and thinning it, but that will have to be on another '68 Mopar.
