Autocar with Heil dump body (Outside Pictures )

I’m just about finished with with the International with the dump body from the Autocar kit so know I’m going to build the Autocar with the dump body from the International. I don’t like how tall this HEIL dump body is so I started with the frame so I can start test fitting the dump body with the Autocar. First thing I did was to lower the cab protective cover by 10 scale inches then I shorten the gap between the rear axles.

Today I reworked the frame over. First I shorten the frame behind the rear axles by 3/8” and then lengthen the frame in front of the rear axles to get the dump body to fit. I’m mostly finished with the frame and have painted it. I’m using after market front float tires and some Michelin tires I found in my tire box. I don’t even remember where the tires came from. I’ve also cut down the side boards to match the front cab protector. Thanks for the comments guys.

Today I worked on the fuel tanks and details on the front grill and also painted the dump body.

Thanks guys not much to show progress wise been working on buffing out the cab that has lots of little areas to work.

Some new progress on this one. I finished the engine, BMF the front bumper, painted the boards on the dump body and the hydraulic tank.

My progress does not look like a lot but it was time consuming getting the hydraulic lines and pump installed. It might of been easier if I had done it earlier in the building but I also had to get some fixed points done to start. Anyway I’ve got it in still need to go back and do some touch up paint and paint the drive shaft I had to lengthen. I also made some attachments for the rear mud flaps that will be attached to the bottom side of the dump body. I also worked on the exhaust stack that will now go straight up instead of the bent one in the kit.

I’ve added more details to the dump body with reflective safety tape and lights. I was able to figure out how to attach the mud flaps and have them rotate with the dump body when it’s lifted up.
