Can't believe that I registered here almost seven years ago, and then forgot about it.
I'll re-introduce.
I am 71, retired back in April 2020. As a hobby, from the mid 70's to the mid 90's, I dabbled in sports car racing, first with a '69 Camaro, then with a C3-chassised/Pickett-bodied '82 Corvette, and finally a full tube frame/Trans Am-spec '86 Camaro.
When I quit racing, I needed something to keep my hands and mind busy, so I turned to 1/18 scale diecast collecting and customizing.
I was also a Nascar fan, beginning with the Wide World of Sports delayed telecasts up through now, although my attraction to that type of racing is waning.
I was always a Richard Petty fan, have a lot of his diecast and memorabilia. I am also a Wendell Scott fan, having met him at the first Nascar race held at Texas International Speedway in 1969. I was working the gas pumps for Union 76 at the time.
A number of my custom diecast models are Mopar-based, and I try to not only replicate real cars, but also create some fantasy builds as well.
I will begin to post some of my customs in the appropriate sections of this forum, and look forward to your feedback.
