Can't seem to find the rulebook but IIRC I'm OK: I've had the kit - heck, all of 'em -for many years, and I owned the subject car but never went through with the project planned for it. One of the cars I'd gladly have back but would probably now leave alone & just drive: Orange '71 Duster, orange bucket interior, looked for all the world like a 340 car without stripes or sharktooth: rallye wheels, Tuff wheel, sporty mirrors, but was a Slant-6; ordered by a schoolteacher. When I got it I wanted to upgrade the drivetrain...
So far, it looks like this...

...and, last night it looked like this... Chipping away at it. Massaged the tubs & rear wheel openings to cram some wheel & tire in there, moved the springs in, and the rest of the stuff is probably pretty obvious. A few things left to decide, but it seems to be pretty much flowing along. It's merely a coincidence that it's Halloween colors, I hadn't thought about that until just now !

As it turns out, the headers I made need a re-do, but got the fuel system plumbed & brake lines done, and the drivetrain in yesterday. VERY tight fit getting the engine into the body. Should be a real party when the interior's attached to the chassis... Color-sanded the body and need to hose - I mean, skillfully airbrush - more orange. This time, foil before clear ! I think if I run wire inside, I may be able to fab an X-pipe; I'd like to do a real tube exhaust, not just the turn-downs.

Well, it's coming along, though I had one part fly off the tweezers and apparently land in another dimension; can't find the damn thing anywhere. Underside's pretty much done; had to modify the fan shroud to fit, but got the steering box & column in there between the headers. Need to mock up rollbar & downtubes to make sure it all fits the body. Also need to work out the disc brake/Motor Wheel Flys/backing plates and ride height. Plus the usual microscopic cleanup here & there that the camera picks up but isn't very visible to the eye...
Just your basic Duster sleeper deal with Elephant power.

Nice progress on your chassis and interior. Yea I know what you mean about your part that flew off the tweezers most of the time I don’t have a clue what direction it went.

Made some progress on it, think I have the wheel/tire/brake mods figured out. Having 2nd thoughts on the rollbar - it kinda messes with the sleeper image, but in the real world it would be needed at the track...

Well, got the orange Duster finished, where do I post photos? Did the End-Of-Year morph into December Back Story? Do I just add the Duster here, having already posted the white RR? I'm so confused ! (haha)

We might need to create a gallery thread for the finished End-of-year Build-off. Give us a few minutes. LoL
