Pat Minick took me and my buddy over to Farconas' 2 car garage behind his house to see this car. No engine or trans in it. Parts everywhere. Looked like a beat up old race car. I guess that's what it was. Not exactly what I expected to see. |

nice! is that a larger scale or 1/25? usually you don't get such nice rimes in Revell FC's at 1/25 scale. nice little story too. bet there are old race cars stashed all over the place.

1/12 scale. I bet you are right on the old race car thing. Probably enough to start a museum.

very cool build. yet another model area i have never touched is larger scales. Chi-town Hustler is one of my all time faves too. someone need to make a device that can search out old race cars. wouldn't that be cool. a friend of mine back in the early 90's used to visit, body shop, machine shops and such looking for old drag and street cars that someone may have abandoned because of payment. picked up a few that way, got lots of parts that way.

Yep; Had a friend of mine who passed away a few years ago that was big in to early midgets / sprint cars in the Phoenix area where he lived. Some times I would accompany him to some of his old buddys houses / garages / shops and I would see old sprint cars stashed away back in the corner that hadn't moved in years. Where does this stuff go when they pass on?  Pic is of my friends midget from the 60's after it was found and restored a few years ago. Pic is of my friends midget from the 60's after it was found and restored a few years ago. Great history on this car which was driven by both the Unser brothers and other pretty famous drivers of the time. This car was saved, fortunately.
