Detachable Lowboy Trailer (FINISHED)

This will be my second Detachable Lowboy trailer from Stace and it’s going behind my Brockway. I’m changing this one up a little bit with a Dorsey type disconnect goose neck. While I was waiting for my kit to arrive I started on scratch building the Dorsey goose neck. Everything is based off pictures on the internet. The trailer will be the same colors as the first one Sublime green and yellow trim. I also bought some B&S engines one will be used as a pup engine on the trailer.

I’ve got the center section together and more details on the disconnect parts I now have it where I can attach and remove the goose neck from the trailer.

Today’s task was to build the double hinge ramps on the front. I still need to add a push plat in the goose neck to hold it up when the trailer is detached but I need to wait until my pup engine gets here first so that I can make sure everything fits with out any interference.

If this helps any. On a RGN lowboy there is a steel bar that forms a "T" and comes down to the frame of the tractor for support while unhooked.

Thanks Stace that’s what I’m going to do with a hydraulic cylinder. Started on the suspension and a mock up with the Brockway. It’s the first check on how my measurements are with the ground clearance. I was going for 8 scale inches of ground clearance and that’s what I ended up with lol. Here’s my update pictures.
