I have a bunch of NOS Johan models left over but would love to see them reissued by someone, always enjoy building them. Testers released the S&M Cuda (different paint scheme) and a few others. Any rumors of Round 2 or someone getting the molds and reissuing them?

I’m with you about getting the old Mopar JoHan kits reissued but from what I’ve seen on other model sites is that a lot of the old castings don’t exist anymore and those that do require a old process that is not used anymore. The only way that they could be reissued is if you take a existing kit and scan it then make new molds.

That's my understanding as well. My impression was that the only way that the Johan molds could be used, was if someone went through the task of refurbishing the original injection molding machinery used by Johan.
Whether or not that equipment still exists is a question, and even if it did, I've heard that most of the molds were lost, sold off for scrap, or stolen by disgruntled employees who were owed money when the company was going under.
It's highly likely that the vast majority of Johan's kits are gone forever, unless someone is going to take on the task of reverse engineering them.
Not many likely scenarios in any case.

with all the ways mold or print things today. there is no reason why we have to have some of the crap that comes from these manufactures. now not a lot of it is. but if these people and their 3D printing keeps going the way it is, the manufactures are gonna find themselves in a heap of hurt.

Just picked up a few more NOS Johan Mopar models. Working on new release stuff to get the skills back up after a long period of not building much before digging into the rare stuff.

i sold off most of my johans back in the late 90's. sold 30 kits, for $20 each. all untouched. parts still on trees. there were 3 69 road runners molded in white in there too. still got a few left. i look at them as just another kit in my stash waiting to be built.

I will grab a few pics when I can. Always looking for good Johan models, would love a few more 69 road runners for the stash plus a 65 Sport fury, 64 Dodge, Birds etc etc.

I've got JoHan '69 RRs in 4 colors, and sometimes think about building them promo-style and displaying them in a vertically stacked case.
Maybe use Elmer's glue so they could (if I understand correctly) be dismantled later.
I'm surprised Revell hasn't issued a '69 RR, or that nobody's issued a '70 or '71 HemiCuda in a large scale.

i don't think they have the rights to the bird anymore. so the 69 runner that are out there are going to be it, i would assume. i think i have had them in blue, white orange or red and yellow. on a facebook group, someone did that to a 70 hemi cuda. built it like a promo, it actually looked really cool. i have a picture somewhere.
