So I’ve started another Big Rig while I wait on my Challenger T/A kit to get here for a idea I have. So far I’ve stretched the frame roughly 2 inches, to match the 1:1 I have access to. The real trucks had the ultra rare torsion bar rear suspension. I found a aftermarket company that makes a resin torsion bar rear suspension. Slow progress and I’m thinking of redoing the cab/sleeper combo. Stace

Looking good Stace what kit is this KW.? I remember building my first KW kit back in the early 70’s with the torsion bar suspension and had a hard time getting it right lol. Have you figured out the paint scheme yet?

Dan the torsion bar kits are definitely a challenge!! I figured that out when I built my original issue Kenworth Mixer. The cab is a amt W925 Cab with the Revell Snap/glue together W900 sleeper. Fortunately there is a Bicentennial edition Kenworth about 15 miles from me. Here’s the look I’m going for a lot to go that’s for sure!!! Stace

Well I decided to use a different sleeper, found a hood in the parts box added the sun visor, getting some final things added to the frame before painting it gold Stace

The new sleeper looks like a perfect match to the one in your reference picture.

So I had a little time and did some work to the chassis. I went and measured the distance from the front wheel to the first fuel strap the converted it to 1/25th scale. I also noticed the air tanks were mounted on the cross over supports of the fuel tanks. I made the supports out of styrene tubing and used air tanks from a Peterbilt 359 kit. I also noticed it had a mid ship carrier bearing so I added one and custom made the drive shafts. Frame is almost done. I also started body work on the cab/sleeper combo. Thanks for looking Stace
