1970 Charger R/T (FINISHED)

This is the Revell Dodge Charger R/T issued in 2016. I’m going with MCW B7 Dark Met. Blue with a Mopar white and black interior. I’m changing out the magnum wheels and red line tires with these wheels and tires. As always your comments are always welcome and appreciated.

I have that kit too! I will be building my version in K3 Burnt Orange Metalic, with a matching interior. Mine will have White Pinstripes from Kieth Marx's Decals. I am thinking of building mine with a 440 or possibly with the Hemi. Either way, mine will be using the Pistol Grip.

May I ask where you sourced the Rallies and tires from? I am thinking I will be using the ones from the Revell '70 'Cuda kits, either the T/A or the Hemi.

Thanks Ed yea I got the rally wheels from the AAR Cuda kit. I build a resin body Charger Hemi orange with a black pin stripes on the side from Keith Marks before this release came out.

Thanks Ed I was looking for a rare color to use on this one plus I had the paint sort of.

I’ve been making some progress on this one with painting and some assembled parts. I’m ready to put the interior together and the chassis. I’m waiting on some parts and now more blue paint seeing that I had just enough to cover everything but with some light wet sanding I’ve burned through. I knew it would be close so no big deal lol. I’m going to do as much as I can on this one until I get everything I need to finish it. But yesterday I received a new Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine and they did a article on a 1971 GTX in Plum Crazy Purple and I still have enough Plum Crazy Purple left to use on one more car plus I have a old MPC 71 GTX kit with the parts still in the sealed bag. So if I get stalled on the Charger I’ll be starting on the GTX either way the GTX will be next.

Worked on finishing the interior today and did a test fit to see how it looks.

I was curious about the side pinstriping on those, as my memory said they were on the scoops instead of around them.
Memory's correct, but that makes them a pain to apply !
The KM pinstripes for a '69 Road Runner were really vexing to apply without tearing them.

Great colors, love B7 - or other dark colors - with white interiors; that combo really "pops".

Love how yours is looking, the color is one of my favorites, and the combo of the white interior looks so good.

I almost wish I had gone with a white interior on the '68 Charger I am building. My '68 Charger is B7 with a B5 interior. I know not the right paint codes for '68 but the colors are pretty much the same as those you could get in '68. I will be putting a Hemi in this one with the air cleaner from a '67 GTX and maybe the exhaust manifolds. I kind of like the idea of putting headers on it though.

Thanks Topside yea I remember putting the side stripes on my orange one and they were a pain to get them to go over the scoops lol.

While I’m waiting on parts and paint I decided to change the tires to the AMT Good Year Polyglas. I had to add some wheel spacers on the rear wheels to clear the springs.

Thanks Al , you may need to wait until they reissue it again I have not seen very many of them for sale.

Yep that’s what I did too on mine. Definitely looks a lot better.
