well, it's happening again, terrible weekend for model building. seems i am back to wasting my time. all in a nutshell, painted a charger i am trying to finish up... twice. it's now sitting in the strip tank again. it will be put back in the box, never to be finished. painted a cuda. it too is awaiting the strip tank as soon as the charger is out. it too will be put back in the box. put all the projects i had on my bench away. wanted them finished for my model clubs last meeting. i frigging cleared the bench of every last project i had going (7 of them in all) and put them away, never to be seen again, at least for a while. started 2 new ones, my gift exchange builds from my model group. if these don't go ok, i am going empty handed to the last meeting. or, maybe i will bring a shitload of stuff to sell. this is getting old, frustrating and i am really tired of it. not good, not good at all!!

What's up with that ? And what do you use in the strip tank ? I have a couple old projects that I should strip.

Do what I do focus on one and don’t start nothing until it’s done no matter how long it’s takes you. Works for me.

I have a couple old projects that I should strip. brake fluid (DOT 3). bit messy but usually cuts thru pretty good. it takes everything off too. if you have putty on the build, say goodbye. i know Mike used easy off oven cleaner to great success too. lady luck is a bitch to me in the paint booth.

My buddy used the purple stuff - took quite a while on his, even had to sand it. Brake fluid would concern me as far as oily contamination reacting to the following round of primer. Easy-Off has been the old standard; I'll probably try that first. I don't recall whether there's lacquer or enamel on the thing, in case it matters...
